After completing his education in Uganda and India, Terry Francis emigrated to Canada in 1972 and joined the airline business, where he enjoyed an extended and fulfilling career.

As head of the commercial side of Canadian Airlines, Terry was responsible for growing the airline from a predominantly domestic carrier to one with an extensive international network.

Tourism was a key ingredient in building the foundation for growth. This was accomplished through fleet expansion, a high quality product and through strategic alliances that led to code-sharing and cost effective partnerships.

As a member of the senior management team, Terry was involved in five mergers and acquisitions during his career.

After his retirement from Canadian Airlines he continued his consulting and advisory services in the tourism and aviation sectors, providing services to airlines, airport authorities, rail companies and tourism boards.

On a contract basis, he has served as President and CEO of the Canadian Tourism Commission and as Managing Director of Interglobe Technologies. He currently serves as Chairman of the PATA Foundation, the charitable arm of the Pacific Asia Travel Association.

Terry Francis is a graduate of the Harvard Business School- Advanced Management Program and lives in Vancouver, Canada.
